Finding a Needle in a Haystack

Admittedly, no one would ever mistake me for a computer pro, and I'm not
one to spend hours surfing the Web. But I do know that among all the
useless junk on the Internet, there are some real gems. Thus, I devote
this article to sharing with you a few of my favorite retirement related
sites; those that are always useful, and always current.
www.benefitslink.com - Not just for plan
administrators, this site
contains all the information benefits personnel could ever hope for. I'm
particularly fond of their search engine, which gathers articles on a
variety of benefits topics from various Web sites. Plus they supply access
to current ERISA documents, and many other important source documents.
This is a must-see Web site, as it contains more options than I could ever
give justice to. Check it out for yourself, and remember to bookmark your
favorite sections.
www.401Kafe.com - This is the most comprehensive
retirement planning site I have found on the Web, with a multitude of information
available for
everyone from beginning investors to the self-proclaimed "guru". Log on
for a quick look at what's new in the retirement industry, educate
yourself more about 401(k) plans, search the library for past articles of
interest, or pose a question to the one and only Ted Benna, founder of the
401(k) plan. Be sure to subscribe to the free weekly newsletter for a
quick overview of what's new direct to your e-mail.
www.ebri.org - The Employee Benefit Research Institute
is a nonprofit,
nonpartisan organization devoted to disseminating information on economic
security and employee benefits. Check out this site to tap into the pulse
of America's retirement picture, through findings from the annual
Retirement Confidence Surveys, and the Small Employer Retirement Survey.
EBRI's site also highlights their unparalleled research on health care and
Social Security issues. Check out the What's New page for daily updates.
Add these to your current list of favorite sites, and the answers you are
looking for can be yours at the click of a button, literally.
Finally, be certain to include links to your favorite periodicals. Since
most periodicals now offer Web sites that duplicate their print
counterpart, this is a great way to keep up-to-date when traveling. Their
content is generally more interesting than the airline movie anyway.
